A wonderful surprise!
A couple of our girls was making this sound today.
It made me go check to see if there was an egg. There was two! :) I was pretty egg-cited! lol. I felt like I found a treasure. They are 19 weeks old. They are growing up. *tear* lol We will have all brown eggs. Which I like just fine. :)
Here they are playing in the yard and enjoying some watermelon. So fun.
Your chickens are so pretty! We have over 100 Isa Browns, and I tire of the same old color;)
ReplyDeleteI can't tell if our pullets are laying yet because we put them in with the older birds, but they should be soon!! ...isn't that cackle exciting?!
Blessings,
Jenna
It is exciting! I like the variety of color we have. We should have had more buffs, but "Nutmeg" was our only pullet. All the other buff turned out to be Roos. We butchered 2 and gave 1 away. We really like our Barred Rock roo. They are all so tame because we handled them right away. Hunter carries a couple around and pets them still. They are getting a little big for that almost. lol
ReplyDeleteBrown eggs are my favorite! I know people say there isn't a difference, but I think they taste richer....more 'warm'.
ReplyDeleteI'm playing catch up on here....
ReplyDeleteI just asked half these questions on your last blog, lol.
Congratulations... how exciting! I cant wait to here our chickens singing the egg song, lol
I made some scrambled eggs yesterday from 4 small eggs we collected and WOW! I never liked store bought eggs just to eat. I always just baked with them. These were wonderful! No "eggy" taste and they were rich and delicious. I LIKE to eat eggs now! lol
