Camping...

Image
We're going camping this weekend. I'm looking forward to sitting around a campfire. I enjoy gazing into the flames and just letting my mind wander. It's relaxing to me. There are waterfalls where we are going. I think that will be a neat thing to see. It will just be nice to spend time with family and enjoy ourselves. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. :) I know I will. I'll update ya'll when I get back. ;)

Lesson 15 on biblical submission...

Proverbs 31:22 - She is Covered! This Scripture-Picture was lovingly created by Lori @ I Will Take It Lord, All You Have to Give . Let's recap what we've studied, meditated on and gleaned from this beautiful, strong and wise, Proverbs 31, Biblically submissive wife so far. She is: An excellent wife, who's worth is incomparable to anything on this earth, as her value in God's eyes and to her husband and children are held and kept safe in God's Heavenly treasury ( Matthew 6:33 ). She is also a force to be reckoned with and our enemy, the devil knows it and that is why he tries so hard to keep this kind of woman deceived by being "liberated" by the world and all its lies. (v.10) A woman who's husband is free to be the man God created him to be because she is a woman who regularly exercises self-discipline and welcomes God's pruning shears so that she may bear bigger and more vibrant fruit. She is humble, gentle and kind and allows the work of her

My little helper...

Well, he's not so little anymore. :) He's growing up and wanted to practice mowing some more. It takes me 2 to 2 1/2 hours to ride it. His help today took an hour off that time! Yay! He did a pretty good job, too. ;) Such determination! He loosened up and enjoyed it. :) I am so thankful for him. :)

Lesson 14 on biblical submission...

This one is long, but I think it's really interesting. Proverbs 31:21 - She Fears God Alone This Scripture-Picture was lovingly created by Lori @ I Will Take It Lord, All You Have to Give . In the beginning of this study ( WEEK #2: The Wife and The Rib ) you were asked a very important question that you should consider every day of your life: "How will you use the 'power' God gave you, today?" I pray daily that we will all choose to serve Christ first, by submitting to our husbands, thereby providing protection for them and our entire households from the schemes of Satan. As I have stated in previous lessons, a Biblically submissive wife is no wimp. No, she is definitely a force to be reckoned with; as she must not only carry her own burdens, but that of her husband and entire household; and perhaps, the burdens of other brothers and sisters in Christ along the way. Unlike an un-Biblically submissive woman who has been "liberated" by society through

Father/son time...

My husband took our son on a surprise putt-putt golf outing. Hunter loves to putt-putt and they needed some father/son time together. They had fun and it meant a lot to Hunter. He doesn't get to spend very much "one-on-one" time with dad. He's with me 24/7 because we homeschool. I don't mind it, but he needs to be with a man every now and then. lol. He really enjoys the time he spends with dad. Dad's are very important. They teach their son's to do all sort's of things like looking nice every once in a while . :) And build stuff... How to fish... How to love... And being a hard worker... Being a father can be a hard job with a lot of responsibility. But, it's worth all the work when you see the results of all the love and lessons. And the goofiness . LOL I love this man. :)

Being a mix of things...

I think of myself as a mixture of a housewife from the 1800's and the 1950's. I love to bake from scratch. I love to take care of my husband and son. I wish there were more magazines like this now-a-days. :( I think us housewives need more encouragement to keep doing what we are doing. Making a happy home can be difficult at times. There are a lot of women out there that don't know quite how to accomplish this. Life is so fast paced for most that it makes my head spin. I LOVE my slow paced life. I LOVE living and raising our son in the country. I love being able to put food up for our family and cooking wholesome meals for them. I couldn't stomach going out to eat most nights and getting fast food. It's just not how it's supposed to be. It's not how God wired me. He put in me an old fashioned spirit with old fashioned morals. It breaks my heart to see that people don't seem to blush anymore. So many things are permissible. It's hard to w

Goodbye Nutmeg...

My son's (and mine) favorite chicken had to be put down yesterday. It was hard for both of us. She had just started laying and yesterday she ended up egg bound and prolapsed. The egg broke inside her and she started to hemorrhage. It was just me and my son home and we did everything we could for her. We didn't want her to suffer anymore so I put her down. Hunter was visibly upset and so was I. She was such a good chicken. Our favorite right off the bat. She was so lovable and tame. She would let Hunter carry her around and pet her. I know she was "just a chicken", but she was a pet to us. Hunter learned a lot yesterday about life and death and about how we don't always understand God's plans. He does what His will is and we have to respect that. We don't have to understand it, but we have to honor it. He is much better today and is happy that Marshmallow (one of our white pullets) is laying successfully. He thanked God for that. So did I.

Lesson 13 on biblical submission...

Proverbs 31:20 - Open Hand, Clean Heart This Scripture-Picture was lovingly created by Lori @ I Will Take It Lord, All You Have to Give . "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my Son. 1 The more they were called, the more they went away; they kept burning offerings to idols. Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk ; I took them up by their arms, but they did not know that I healed them . I led them with cords of kindness , with the bands of love, and I became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws, and I bent down to them and fed them ." ~ Hosea 11:1-4 (emphasis added) Please get your Bible and look up this passage in Hosea. Now, take a highlighter and highlight the following: loved him (verse 1) they were called (verse 2) I who taught....to walk (verse 3) I healed (verse 3) I led them (verse 4) I bent down.....fed them (verse 4) Okay, now take either a colored pencil or an archival quality pen and underline the following: they w

Proverbs 31:19 - She's a Distaff This Scripture-Picture was lovingly created by Lori @ I Will Take It Lord, All You Have to Give . I'm sure you're saying to yourself, "She's a distaff? How is a woman a distaff? I thought a distaff was a tool used for sewing? If she's a distaff, does that mean I'm one?" If this is what you were wondering after reading the title, then here are the answers to your questions "Yes.", "Yes.", "Yes." and "Yes, you can be, if you'd like!" dis'-taf ( pelekh ) : This word occurs once in Proverbs 31:19 ; "spindle" is found in the same passage. In the Revised Version (British and American) the meanings of the two words have been exchanged. See SPINNING . 1 Below are two other sources, for a deeper meaning of the the word, distaff ( pelekh ): Easton's Bible Dictionary 2 (Hebrews pelek, a "circle"), the instrument used for twisting threads by a whirl (

Here's a video I made today. Don't laugh. lol

The help of friends...

Image
You may remember the window I broke a while back with a wood chip from the lawnmower. Well, we finally got a new window to put in and some friends came to help us put it in. My husband is off to the right side and you can't really see him. lol. (From left to right--Bob, Thad, Hunter, Ryan) After they took out the old window. There he is in the long sleeved grey shirt. :) Handsome, eh? lol What great helpers! It's finally in! The windows on this one open. I kinda like that. We now can get a breeze from the dining room to the kitchen. :) Now we have to do the finishing touches like trim and such. But it went in with no major catastrophes and we're happy about that! Glad to have friends to help. :) God has blessed us with good friends.

Hunter's doctor's appt...

Image
Our son, Hunter, went to church camp last week. On Friday he was in chapel and he told the leader he was lightheaded. He ended up blacking out and was very incoherent. He was shaky and weak with a heart rate of 52. They gave him juice and crackers and he perked back up. I am taking him to the doctor today to see if it was a blood sugar problem or his heart. (He has a MILD case of tricuspid valve regurgitation) I am thinking he may be hypoglycemic. I am and both his grandma's are. It just made me a little nervous. :) So hopefully we find some answers today. :) I will post an update when I have one. I appreciate any prayers. *UPDATE* They tested him for diabetes today and it was negative. Woohoo! They said it wasn't his heart, but we should keep an eye on his blood pressure to make sure it isn't running too low. They diagnosed him with hypoglycemia. He has to have snacks available at all times now and should eat more protein. I can do that! :) Thank you for

A wonderful surprise!

A couple of our girls was making this sound today. It made me go check to see if there was an egg. There was two! :) I was pretty egg-cited! lol. I felt like I found a treasure. They are 19 weeks old. They are growing up. *tear* lol We will have all brown eggs. Which I like just fine. :) Here they are playing in the yard and enjoying some watermelon. So fun.
