Homemade Chocolate Syrup
1/2 c cocoa
1 c water
2 c sugar
1/8 t salt
1/4 t vanilla
Mix cocoa, water, and sugar in sauce pan. Stir well. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 3 minutes stirring to keep it from crystallizing.
This is what you get...it's not the best picture, but you get the idea. :)
It tastes really good! Just like Hershey's, but without the corn syrup or preservatives. :) Enjoy!
Does it keep indefinitely like the store bought syrups do?! I'll be giving this a go....my boys are avid chocolate milk drinkers!
